Christmas has come early...

and you know you're domesticated when:

You get excited about getting a  vacuum cleaner for Christmas. That's really sad actually...

I have a Dyson.

I have the DC03, the so-called 'lightweight' older one - its a few years old now, got it in 03. I've always had a Dyson -before that, it was the really old DC01.

I hate it. Its heavy, its hard to push, it hurts my neck. It sucks, and it works, but meh. Dyson isnt all its hyped up to be. Not after a few years of use, and not at that extortionate price, anyway.

Today, i got a little bagless Vax Astrata off ebay for next to nothing. Yay.

It sucks too.
I can push it without pain.

I am happy.

This new house is much less dirty/dusty than the old one - the old one was 15 feet from a very busy road. This one isnt. One more reason to live in a maisonette off the busy road. YES.

:D

"Sucks" in the way a vacuum cleaner is supposed to suck, I hope! (I'll remember not to get a Dyson.)

Glad to hear you're happy! :)

Dysons can suck the fleas off a dog at 100 yards. Yes. But, they're heavy and hurt my neck to push.

I are so excited about a light fluffy vac that i can push by myself. If only for the autonomy and the not-having-to-nag-husband-to-do-it factor. Yes.

So light and fluffy you can actually do stairs with it? If so, I'm sold. It always hurts to vacuum, but stairs are the worst, and we've got a zillion of 'em. Or so it feels. (Gosh, we should do a TV commercial.)

Hubby do it? Must be nice. This place hasn't been vacuumed since, oh, probably last Christmas!

I did half the stairs with the vac sitting at the top, and the unplugged it, took it down the steps, and did the rest from the bottom. Long hose. Brill vac. :)

Yeah i had to ask him to do it. It got done once a month or so with my doing the carpet sweeper daily to keep the bits off the floor, and him acting resentful every time he did it. Now i dont have to put up with that either.
