David plays a wonderfully eccentric widower in his 60s, and John Hannah's in it as well! (He was also in Jekyll and Hyde (2002) with David Warner).

The two of them work well together, and I'm learning to appreciate Hannah's scottish brogue better than his put-on english one. He's kinda cute. No, dont worry, i'm not developing another crush, though if i were, Hannah's wonderfully comedic in The Mummy and its sequel with Rachel Weisz and Brendan Fraser.

And i thought John Hannah made a better police Inspector than Andrew Burt did back in 1987, though Burt holds a special place in my memory as Stanislaus Oates in Campion, and as Valgard in Terminus.

Otherwise an unremarkable remake of the 1987 Marple episode / Agatha Christie book - i think i prefer the old Marple though, Joan Hickson. She had an air of menacing clairvoyance about her that the new one doesn't.

Captain Kiesel picspam, for alocin42, and to show how pretty David Warner was in Peckinpah's Cross of Iron (1977) even if he was a chain smoking soldier on the wrong side of the war complaining of diarrhoea.
