Like Secret Smile with David Tennant, this 6 part miniseries shown on BBCOne and then BBc America, thanks mooncove, has had me wrapped up, and utterly heart pounding and nauseated in fear for Joe.
Secret Smile took me a long time to unwind from afterwards, I was so afraid Brendan had killed her after raping her. And this, Conviction, has had me feeling so weird. So scared for the protagonists, so afraid if i were in their shoes, so sick feeling, picturing if sometihng like that had happened to me. Its weird how deep i get into these things, and how they affect me. I usually avoid shows like this because they affect me so.
David has had a small part but has played a wonderfully senile/Alzheimer's father of 3 in this movie. And he still has his skinny legs, as his son put him to bed in nowt but his boxers, with the fly partially open. Doh.
Gory at the beginning, gut wrenching drama, yes. Has scared the shit out of me. I dont think i'll rewatch except to re-see the David parts, but omg.
The US commercials in between have been keeping me moderately amused, however. :) I miss commercials. Especially ones in that generic American accent that's slightly overpronounced and especially nasal.
Nothing to with the US series of the same name starring J August Richards (Gunn of Angel fame)....
