*collapse*

We went to Pype Hayes Park tonight.

We managed to park on Chester road, relatively close to the event, got in, got food before the queues became unmanageable, and got OUT and back home in 30 minutes !!

The bonfire was SO HOT that you couldn't stand at the barrier and look into it - it burned your skin. It was astonishingly hot, and the barriers much too close to it, i thought. Much closer than last year' or any year before it, and we've been regulars there for the last 7 years...

We had a blast. Pumpkin *hated* the loud music courtesy of HeartFM but enjoyed the fireworks, albeit with her ears covered. At least she quit jumping each time one popped, poor kid.

She collapsed in bed but spent almost half an hour crying, because we hadn't done every step of her bath and night time routine, and she couldn't go to sleep without it. Poor thing.

All in all a good time, but my god am i gonna be pooped tomoz. Yes.

Remember remember the fifth of November, folks.

That's Brum all right! The city centre, the Bullring and that giant bronze bull, etc. Why didnt they tell me they were here?! I'd have met up with them, yes :D

Pype Hayes is about 6 miles from the city centre, because Brum is a pretty big city by UK standards anyways. The city is very concentrated in its urban-ness, yes.

Those were lovely pics actually. As for me being a Rushie, i could be a fan maybe. Not a huge devotee, but if LJpeeps are that close to me geographically, i'll take any excuse to meet up.

Why were they here, anyways?

You could always join the [livejournal.com profile] geoffrey_rush community! :-) (I started out as a kind of moderate fan myself but quickly got caught up in the frenzy once I joined. It's easy to do ... speaking of celebs who are unfailingly nice to their fans--and actually appreciate the admiration. Not that it's easy to keep up with such an active community ...)

Being out of the loop for weeks at a time, I missed why they chose Brum for the meet-up, but apparently it was a central locale for a bunch of UK Rushies to see him in The Golden Age together.
