David plays a very convincing grandfather, with a hearing aid and everything.

edited: i made an icon. They tried very hard to make him look older than he is (and succeeded, he's only 65), and his mannerisms portray a slightly senile and partly deaf man in his middle 70s. Incredible really.
The man has *talent*. Sad that he wasted that talent on so many shite B movies in the 90s and voice work in cartoons. Still, his voice is powerful and amazing even with a foreign accent, and the whole movie was touching from beginning to end.
