Anyone reminded SHARPLY of The Brain of Morbius, and the Sisters of Karn?

Havent we BTDT about 30 years ago, when Four went up against a sisterhood of all seeing women?

Oh NuWho, you're great except when you're borrowing against yourself and hoping no one will notice / oldskool fans won't bitch too loudly...and by the way, I thought the Sisterhood of Karn would've kicked these pansy girls' asses. Yes.

Nice period piece. Donna kicks ass. Just what Ten has always needed, is a companion woh argues with him, stopping him, etc, but never really going against him. IMHO this Lonely God shit is addling his brain and he needs someone like Donna to keep him on the straight and narrow.

Also good that there is NO ROMANCE WHATSOEVER. Its about fucking time NuWho got back to what OldWho was about.

Which brings me to... 'She's Returning.' *facepalm*

Its like all the Bad Wolves added into one. Sorry, but we don't need to be reminded every episode that Saint fucking Rose is coming back. GRARGH!!! Batten down the hatches, bend over, grab your ankles and kiss your ass goodbye, its going to be a clusterfuck of a lifetime. SIGH.


DAMNIT TO HELL RUSTY. LET GO OF ROSE, FOR FUCK'S SAKE. BEFORE YOU RUIN YOUR OWN SHOW...< /capslock>

I liked it quite a bit and yeah, I immediately thought of the Sisterhood of Karn. Oh, when will rain of Morbius be out on DVD? It's one of my faves. Anyhoo...

I didn't actually pick up on the Rose reference. Obviously too subtle for me. I must have been re-filling my wine glass at that point or something! LOL

Yeah, I knew the return of Rose would be the Bad Wolf for this series. I suppose we'll just have to grit our teeth and bear it.

On second (well, first-and-a-half viewing for bits of it), its a pretty good episode, there's just things about it that annoy me. Greatly.

I loved this ep, mostly for the banter and connection between the Doctor and Donna. In many ways she's his equal, something we don't see very often. IMHO she's just what he needs right now, a companion who not only sees how broken he is(and had already seen, before she knew any of the details), but is actively reaching out to help, not only with comfort, but by challenging him(in more ways than one ;) ). With her help he might actually begin to heal.

(shameless plug ;) -- my fic on the subject is up at my journal)

I hope, though, that the relationship is more than a setup for having the rug pulled out from under him, again, when Rose comes back. (Maybe just a hug and a smooch and she can leave again? Please?)

And I don't want the Master coming back, either. (don't get me started on that)
