Hmm. I found it all very implausible indeed. Too light and dull for my tastes, even if its just setting up for the other half next week.

And did anyone else's audio keep cutting out / at one time a face was scrambled? Shame shame, BBC.

Ok so he has to fight the family of blood eventually, so why did he try to hide, knowing he's be caught/found out eventually?

Paul Cornell didnt do such a good job making me understand exactly why the Doctor thought it would work to hide as a human, unless there are other motives involved, like him wanting to experience humanity for himself, etc.

Father named Sydney and mother named Verity though? Nice one. And Paul McGann is officially canon. YES.

And did i see a BABY in the clip for next week??
Mood:: 'blah' blah

I loved it as usual, etc. But I don't see why he couldn't have just cloaked himself or the TARDIS (and then hidden inside it) in an imperception field. Or why he couldn't have just hung round in the TARDIS until they died. And why exactly did they want him?

Oh well, I'm not complaining. As long as you ignore the plot holes, it's brilliant.

Are you doing anything on Tuesday afternoon? Because I'm going to be in Birmingham, and if you can make it there I can give you the books back.

Tuesday afternoon i'm dropping pumpkin at school between 12.45 and 1.15, and 3.30 - 4.00... but in between i could come to town, yes.

I have to take my sister to the station and her train leaves at 3.30, so I could hang around til afterwards.

i couldnt make it there after school, it'd have to be while pumpkin's in school. I could be there for 3 and then get back to wylde green in time, alternatively since that will cost me £1.80 in train fare, i could just post you some stamps!

Okay, I think posting the books might be a better idea then. All of the books are less than an inch wide, so they can be posted fairly cheaply. Do you know the price? I can't remember, but I can find it somewhere.

No idea of the price, but i can happily paypal you whatever it costs, or post stamps, or whatever suits you best.

I think they're about 70p each second class? Unless you want Cold Fusion sent recorded.

Do you like Fourth Doctor books?

At the mo i'm feeling off Who altogether...

Cold fusion should be okay, no worries. If it gets lost, i'll get a new one.

Hehe, the McGann reference in that made the whole episode worthwhile for me.

Okay.

I loved it rather a lot. Playing "spot the old skool references" was fun! It was like good fanfiction come to life; a slightly dubious reason behind the overall plot but fun and with lots of nods towards old episodes.

I reckon the wedding and kids are going to be lil' blond kid visions...

I enjoyed spotting old skool references, but felt they were just placating me (and the rest of old skool fannery), whilst his journal was filled with only new series visions of Slitheen and clockwork androids...

Oh, i do too. There wont be a real wedding or a baby. There better not be, or i'll burn my copy of Goth Opera and swear off the new series for good.

Well all the kids and new-series-only folk wouldn't have recognised anything else. I would have expected only new series stuff so to have the old Doctors in as well was going further than they really needed to, so I'm happy!

shrug. It felt too light, I didnt like John Smith (he was a twat really, sending that little boy off to be beaten?? teaching boys how to shoot guns??) and i just wasnt overkeen on it.

I guess i'm really losing it for new Who. I enjoyed the last 15 minutes of 42's gurning and screaming more than i enjoyed this week emotional lovey dovey pap.

I think i'm gonna hang out at teh nos' journal, she didnt like it either. Gotta find refuge somewhere.

I think the shooting instruction and allowing obnoxious!kid to bully blond visiony!kid made sense in that it showed that Smith wasn't the Doctor just pretending to be someone else, because he wouldn't have done those things. He's been made human so he's now a product of the times and has human flaws, and isn't necessarily that likeable.

Lovey dovey stuff isn't usually my cup of tea but there was enough other interesting stuff going on that I didn't mind a bit of it.

Ahh well. I think the ratings at OG are at around 96% excellent or good so this ep seems to be one of the most popular to date. The world would be a boring place if everyone liked exactly the same things though!

I'm just not feeling the lub. Sorry. Yes i know that contrasted Ten from Smith, but Smith was a total cunt.

I wanted to love it, i've been anticipating it for weeks. Made the family clear off so i could watch it in peace, etc. But it didnt grab me like i wanted it to.

Shrug. I cant help it, i didnt like it.
