Wow. One of the best movies I think David ever made.
It really touched me, him as Henry Buchanan, the english expat school teacher living in Canada after the first World war.
Bloody good film. He was just the right amount of gangly, nerdy, handy with gadgets (like his motorbike, the wireless, etc) and english, to seem out of place in the middle of all those canucks, and he made sufficiently clumsy looking on his bike, and on horseback as well.
Slow, lightly plotted, and a very gentle movie, only one death in the whole thing. David plays the good guy and gets the girl, amazingly enough. No villains involved.
I will be rewatching it; it was a gorgeous period piece.
Did i see him NAKED at one point, btw, drying off on a cliff face, after a swim? OMG. I think my heart stopped. Just zoomed out enough that I couldn't see it naturally, but yipes!
Highly recommended, and not just for the Full Warner. If you can get ahold of it. Ahem. ;)
(He kept saying in interviews that he wasnt beautiful, over the years. But he WAS. And he still is. When i meet him, i may well plonk him on the head for being so thick all these years. My god that man oozed gangly english sex appeal in the 60s, and he hasnt stopped since. Why doesnt he believe it?)

I loved his character too. Of all David's characters ever, in all his movies ever, THAT's the one i'd fuck raw, yes. The one i'd go to bed dreaming about straddling until it hurt. The rest of the movie seemed to fit around him, and that was enough for me. The supporting characters? I dont even remember them except the little boy.
This was better than Morgan, better than Work is a 4 Letter Word, better than even Time after Time. I dont actually like villains, you see. David's as much a good guy as an evil one, and at home in a good guy role as much as in a bad guy one. And this one made me REALLY want him in my bed. omg.
I also enjoyed seeing him dance, and imagined it was me. Though i'd be gazing at his navel because i'm more than a foot shorter than he is.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. David in glasses. And not in like that stupid airplane movie either.

I have about a gazillion, any 80 of which i may be using at one time. I am OCD about the number of icons i have up at any one time, though, and it has to be a round number - 70, 80, etc. Even though i've earned 107 through loyalty and such.
I'm a weirdo.
