George C Scott's version of the film, starring (who else?) David Warner, and Stricko as well. Stricko's hair cracked my shit up, yes. Did nothing for me, he was still the dodgy shifty looking bloke he played Turlough as.

I wasnt impressed by the film, having seen the same premise a hundred times over. In fact, i was bored stiff, fast forwarding bits that weren't David.

BUT, David's Bob Cratchit was spot on, and so against type (he wasn't a typical megalomaniac!), and so sweet and gentle with his son. Yes. He didn't munch the scenery when grieving for his son, it was beautiful and touching.

Did i spot Michael Gough at the end? Methinks so yes. Councillor Hedin/Arc of Infinity, Alfred in the Batman movies. Whee. I also think that the bloke who played Scrooge's nephew Fred is familiar, as Rottingham in Robin Hood Men In Tights. I'll have to check the creds on that one though.

i remember seeing that movie and thinking,'hmm that red-haired guy is awfully familiar'. that movie just proves my theory that Doctor Who cast members are showing up in every movie i've ever seen. ^.^

Michael Gough's even in a Campion episode! Who actors are *everywhere*.

Oh, shame! I really enjoyed it. Not quite enough for it to dislodge the Muppet Christmas Carol as one of my favourite films of all time, but I thought it was great to have something so faithful to the book.

Michael Gough's in everything. :)

Ah well, cant make everyone happy all the time!

David *wasn't* a scenery munching megalomaniac with huge fingernails, wearing a neon suit, or filmed in black and white while playing in a video game - it suited me FINE.

He even got a kiss!

Fred is played by Roger Rees, best known for the title role in the RSC's early 80s production of Nicholas Nickleby. He also appears as Malcolm in the Iain McKellen Macbeth that was made around the same time and gets given away on DVD sometimes on the front of newspapers.

Aha, so i WAS right. Roger Rees did a shitty little 80s/90s show in the states about a wheelchair bound man who became some superhero when he put on a suit. If i recall.

I love being right! And i love face- spotting :)

Graham Crowden's the prosecuting lawyer in Morgan. Cripes is he YOUNG!
