Been re-watching this today. Have a new appreciation of David as Eli, especially when he held Chickie as he died, on the beach. I wanted to cry with him.
The shootout when rescuing Chickie, to the tune of the House of the Rising Sun - sheer brilliance.
"Small case of mood poisoning - must be something i hate." and the whole designated drowner bit before they drowned Eli, was superb.
The soapy elements of this annoyed me the first time around, but this time, i'm finding it a lot more engaging, yes.
And I confess to liking Jim Belushi's nose.
