You know, i dont understand a bleedin word of German overdubs.

But DAMN he's pretty. Oh so very pretty.

And he can ride a horse. *dies of squee*

I wouldn't mind being the chick walking on his back either, except i might break it, lol

Mmm that gorgeous flat tummy of his. And those shoulders. And those long delicious fingers. And those ears.

And those trousers should have been illegal. Yes.

edit: I finished it. OMG the end.  THAT is the kind of thing i have been looking for. YES. *fangirlgasm*
Mood:: 'horny' horny

Actually, unlike the others you found, Michael Kohlhaas was originally released in German. In fact, I seem to recall something about the international cast all speaking in their own languages with the intent that they would be redubbed into German for the complete picture.

Now my burning question is, in the English-language version that was released later (under the title "Man on Horseback"), did they go back and use David Warner's voice as it was in the original soundtrack, or was that lost, and did somebody else dub him back into English? (If you get a chance, maybe you could ask him that for me when you meet him?)

PS: If you want to know what the story's about, you should be able to find an English translation of it online (try Project Gutenberg; I think that's where I found it several years ago); it's a classic of German literature, by Heinrich von Kleist. (I think he's most famous for The Broken Jug.) Or you could probably find a synopsis on Wikipedia. (I don't have time to do a serious search for an English one right now, but Wiki does have a synopsis in German.)

PPS: Yes, those leather pants are rather becoming, aren't they

The trousers were positively INDECENT. Yes. I iconed them.

I'll ask him. If i can remember how to speak. When i regain consciousness.

Ooh, thanks for the tipoff, i'll go a googling later on. I am keen to know wtf is going on, yes.

OMG the END.

*fan girl orgasm*

THAT is what i've been after. I love the PAIN. Its like in Nightwing, and then some, oh yes. *squee*

Now, if Frankenstein doesn't let me down, combining two fetishes in one, i'll REALLY be in fangirl heaven. Yes.

I must say, I didn't have the same reaction to the ending as you did at all, although the still photo was rather sexy.

"Two fetishes in one"? What's the other one?

You may be disappointed in Frankenstein if that's your criteria. It's a highly abridged one-hour version, so with that kind of pacing, no, there are no long, loving close-ups of him writhing in agony as the switches are thrown. (No long, loving close-ups of anything, really.) Is that what you're getting at?

"Trousers of doom" .... lol :-)

No, not exactly what i'm getting at, not exactly, but who knows, it may just satisfy. I'm a particularly kinky weirdo with a very special kink. Icon above of Peter Davison might give you a hint. I'll find out, its shipping hopefully tomorrow from Staffs so should arrive by the weekend.

Gawd i loved the end, yes. So much better than him being the villain sneeringly gloating over the corpse of the hero; he was the hero, and he was the corpse! Yes!

Told you i was a weirdo.

Love my icon, hee :D Those are definitely the trousers of my impending doom, yes.

What about him being the villain and getting zapped into screaming oblivion by H. G. Wells? (In fact, when did he play the villain gloating over the corpse of the hero? Seems he always gets vanquished in the end. In fact, oh, you'd have loved it--there actually used to be a website long ago called "Die the David Way" that consisted of a list of all the different ways he died in his movies cuz he seems to do that so often. I remember one of the categories was "Death by Deresolution.")

Funny, i thought about TaT just after i posted that remark - he'd been the baddie, and then he'd been the corpse! lol

Yeah, death by derez, that was interesting. Tron rules.

Well,re Frankenstein, Robert Powell's ok, too. I enjoyed Thirty Nine Steps a LOT, especially the Powell-in-a-wheelchair-while-David-sneers-at-him scene, terrific stuff. David's such a good baddie when the script calls for it... So i'm kindof keen to see them together again.

I liked Gielgud in Providence so I'll be happy to see him again, and as for Carrie i'm-totally-bipolar Fisher, well, she'll always be Princess Leia to me, but i'm dying to hear her 'english' accent. Heh.

Sooooo... :) I cant wait.

Oh, yes, the sneer. Now that's my fetish: Sneer at me David, bite me with your sarcasm, make it hurt, oh yes, that's the way!

Um, Carrie's English accent ... I guess there was one, somewhere, but don't expect to hear much of it!

My fetish is a bit personal and i dont usually talk about it out in the open, but Doctor who seasons 2 and 3 have plenty of it in it.

But yeah, love David sneering. Its memorable, yes.
