He's a great bloke, and we randomly ended up in the same pub as him after the event but decided not to bother him any further...

As to his fanboyishness, well, RTD's single New Adventure put the Doctor on a gritty council estate and had him fighting the extra-dimensional cocaine monster with whores and pimps and gaybashers and added grit.

Mark Gatiss wrote Last of the Gaderene, which has UNIT and the original Master and is like an unmade Pertwee TV episode...

He's a massive fanboy, but he's got a different angle to RTD, I think. If Gatiss's pitch for the show had got off the ground it would have been a complete relaunch with a Doctor who didn't even know who the Daleks were.

And I'm sure everyone wants pictures of PD...
