I am home from the invasion

I had an amazing time. Sylv didnt make it but Pete, Colin and Paul McGann were there. I have photos of me with all 3 of them, autographs, and a special PD autograph in a 1983 annual i bought while i was there. I made several new friends and even got a kiss on the cheek from a guy i helped queue jump (lol) and asked if i was 19 by at least two gentlemen. It was really fantastic.

I saved a small fortune, i ate light (mostly running on adrenaline) and i had a really fantastic time. I even enjoyed my hostel stay, and would do it again in a heartbeat for £18 a night inc breakfast!

I may update with photos tomorrow.

I am so happy you had a good time! Part of me was worried that maybe you'd decided not to go, but I'm really glad like you say you didn't let the trouble stop you from enjoying what you'd planned for so long. And I'm sure you are too - autographs, piccys and kisses all round hey? ;)

I almost didnt go, yes. Because i was so overtired, upset about the whole thing, and not sure what to do.

I'll try and post pics, everyon,e but its oging tobe a busy day, its mother's day, my mother-in-law will be here, and i've got a lot of things to do that they didnt manage while i was away.

PD didnt really want to be there. Firstly his whole family was there, inc wife, two sons and Georgia Moffett walking round towards the end as well. Secondly, he was fidgeting during the panel like he was bored stiff, and when it came time for autographs, he looked so dour and bored, he didnt even ask my name or smile in the photo.

I think he thought i was going to jump him. lol. I'd been hiding in the corners snapping pics all day any time hw walked past, so he was probably pretty tired of me.

Paul was the real sport. Talked to me and a friend about Withnail, about how REG was a pain in the arse, and how it was the best holiday he'd ever had. He's a Liverpool supporter bigtime, and he was anxious to hear about how it was going towards 5pm.

Colin was such a personality on stage, yes. His anecdotes sortof dominated the panel because HE is larger than life, yanno?

They talked about David Warner; he is one of Colin's heroes. COlin was David's definitive Hamlet in 1966, and was inspired to be an actor by it. Then they talked about how Peter's worked with him recently in Circular Time, and I was in fangirl heaven, yes. David's well though of.

I will try to get pics uploaded as well as all 56someodd minutes of the 4 doctors panel to sendspace or something.

But give me time, its going to be hectic here today and I have so much to do. And i need to decide what to do with my blog, whether to remove it completely, just delete any mention of my family, or what.

Glad to hear you went. Even gladder to hear you had a good time! Where did you find a hostel that did breakfast? When we were staying at the hostels you had to provide all your own food.

Astor Victoria. I was almost too old, ha ha! I had a bowl of muesli with warm milk as i sat at the table and watched BBC news 24 on the big tv downstairs in the kitchen. Very cool.
