taking a CBT course soon, and asking for a scooter for my birthday.

CBT courses cost only about £100, once you're certified you're set for 2 years, and my provisional UK driving license, which I can't be arsed to do anything with, covers categories A and B, which is cars and bikes up to 125cc...

I might just get me a scooter. Used. Yes. And have that extra little bit of freedom. [profile] snapesbabe  is the person i ought to talk to but she's busy right now so i wont bother her with it til she's settled. My better half's cousin is a conoisseur of the fine bike-age so he may also be a local person to ask for assistance in finding a damn cheap scooter that no one will want to nick, and equipment like helmet, leather coat, gloves, etc.

Yes. I think i will do it, for ME. I might become a biker-chic. zOMG.

Zoom, zoom! I considered this route myself. I have a one-hour commute from home to school, and my big tank of a car gets pretty lousy gas mileage, so my DAD actually suggested to me that I get a motorcycle! I haven't followed up, but it was a thrill to consider the possibility of being a biker chic! Go for it, I say!

I'm REALLY giving consideration to it. A 50cc bike that cant go more than 30mph will get GREAT mileage. Pumpkin will be going to school next summer, i'll be free 9-3 daily to work or whatever, i'll need transport to do it.

It'll cost me £100 for the test plus £300ish for the bike plus £200/yr for insurance and £100 for the helmet/leathers/boots/etc, versus £500 for a cheap car, £800/yr for the insurance, £40/tank of fuel, plus £200/yr for tax and whatever the MOT costs yearly too AND having to have someone riding with me all the time til i take £200 worth of lessons and a £100 driving test and pay for the fees for the application (approx £40 last time i looked) etc...

The scoot is a much cheaper option, yes.

Biker-Leonie: i like it, yes.

Get it spraypainted with the seal of Rassilon, yes.

*hmm* she says as she rubs her chin. Gotta afford a bike first, and then all the extras come later (and will add up to as much as the bike, argh)...
