a very green allotment near the house for £21 for the entire year. With a shed already on it. Completely enclosed area, pumpkin can run free, ride bike, etc.

Needs tilling, we've put in for it, hopefully they will do it for us free the first time.

I suspect i wont be home a lot this summer, and my mobile bill will be a lot higher. lol.

Hand grown veg will be excellent this summer, yes. And its easy walking distance to the house.

If i'm not replying to emails, this will be why. Cant WAIT.

Ooh - veg veg veg! *jealous* Edible plants are the only ones worth growing. Ooh, yum. Better get R making some bird-scaring shiny sweet-wrapper windmills or something!

I'm so jealous now! I love nothing more than hand grown veggies, but the only time I ever get any of those is when friends of the family have some leftover from their garden.

The soil out where we live is basically almost pure clay, so there's no chance of anything growing out here. I planted a young gooseberry bush out behind the house three or four years ago, it's still only barely making it past my ankles. I've given up.

In theory I could remove some of the clay and replace it with soil, but I don't have the equipment, money nor the nerves :p Congrats on your allotment though! Take photos!

We did take photos, if only for 'before and after' but i wont be uploading. Someone may be able to identify the allotment plot and use it against me :(

That's okay, but I'm very happy for you :) Good luck with it!

Thanks!

I'll still be fangirling David, though!

I even made a few new icons last night :D

This is *awesome*! Some of my favourite Brit scenery from the train is when we trundle past the allotments. I'm always quite jealous that I don't have one. Mind you, I have a *tiny* sunny spot in my yard for a small veg garden (usually, 2-3 tomato plants, lots of herbs, and *maybe* some beans -- which never grow to fruition). But there's just something magic about a hillside full of allotments. All with the promise of someone's homegrown, well-loved produce.

have fun!

We ride between two allotment plots on the train to playgroup and church every week, so i guess i just got inspired? My suggestion, my husband followed up and pursued it actively, and has done most of the work so far. He spent half the day there yesterday furthering his tan and painting/waterproofing the shed. lol

His tan's gonna beat mine this year, that's for sure!

Thanks, we're thrilled and glad to have yet another place to call 'our own' even if it isnt technically :)
