Maybe if i get lucky i'll get a signed picture in the post back, or something. Sometimes they're that nice, sometimes they dont even acknowledge fanmail. Who knows.
I'm tempted to ring the number and find out, though!

It was good to vent it all on paper, too. lol.
I can post the contents, if anyone wants to read what i wrote, sad and pathetic that it was...

OooO! I wanna read!!! :) :)

David enjoys his fan mail!! At least from what I've read online through my celebrity autograph sites. He refuses to sign ANYTHING unpersonalized so that made me hella happy to know!
Thanks so much for this address and PLEASE!! let me know asap if you hear from him as I've been looking for months for a working address. I really want an autograph photo.
This address is also on the site I use, but not that many people have written to him. Two are pending (A long time wait for them about 2-3 years worth). The one success on there is from 2003 and says:
Type: Success
Sent: 09/05/2003 - Rcvd: 09/13/2003 (8 Days)
Tester's comment: "Sent David a trading card featuring him as Sark in Tron. Sent back signed very quickly."

But i didnt ask for anything, i didnt ask for an autograph, because its not about having his signature, its about telling him how i feel and how he makes me feel, and how it makes me feel to be going to see him and hopefully meeting him there.
I have no idea what will come of the letter. If nothing happens, i'll be happy enough to know he read it.

Ah, very wise!

OooO when are you going to see him? In another play he's doing?! Omgosh, if you do I'll try to find a piccie and maybe you could have him sign it, only if you get to talk to him and near the very end as I wouldn't wanna waste any of your time with him. I'll see if I can get a picture. Would that be okay? If not, I'd definitely understand. I want this man's sig though, haha! So I shall *drops to knees* ask you, plead you to PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE get a siggie from him to me!!
If I write to him before you see him I'll let you know asap!! Hopefully I can try to make time for writing a letter to him. I can't say I understand writing to him without asking for an autograph as I don't feel the same way about him as you do (*Bows head* I know I am shameful! I <3 David, but he's just a fun crush for me), but in a way I do understand becuz although David is fun for me I feel this way towards Lance Henriksen. I think if I knew of a working address I would also write to Lance as you have written to David with the same admiration and fandom-love and then if I got to meet him ask for a autograph.
I hope he does write back! That would be so wonderfully awesome! I can't wait. You'll have to let me know asap if you get to hear from him. He's so sweet. I'm sure he'll write. Only time will tell!

I'll probably just ask him to sign the play brochure or booklet or whatever you get when you attend an RSC performance, like I did with the actors at the Invasion back in March. Or i might get a photo printed, who knows. Definitely one of him in something Shakespearean, anything else would be an insult.
We all have our crushes - before him it was Peter Davison, omg, for the better part of 17 years. Then i met the guy in March and decided he's definitely cute, but not for me. He was so dour it wasn't funny, and I can't see myself idolising someone like that. Success has totally gone to his head, he's not on planet earth any more. No thanks.
David, otoh, was illegitimate, his father a Russian jew, and he spent his childhood being snatched back and forth between parents. Acting was the only thing he could do well, he utterly failed at school. His Hamlet is reknown throughout england, hell, Colin Baker and Peter Davison were talking at the invasion about David Warner's Hamlet as their insipration to be an actor!
And he seems genuinely grateful to have work, to do things, and to have fans, so he's a lot more along the lines of someone i'd want to admire, kwim? And he's GORGEOUS, damnit!! Even if he doesn't think so and never thought so, *I* do.
I found a bunch of cool pics of him up on the RSC website in their exhibitions section - him as Hamlet in 66, etc. I will be iconising, shortly. *salivates all over keyboard* Alas poor Yorick... mmmmmmmmm.

I remember that! It's really hard to like someone like that. I went through the same thing a few years ago over this comedian named Carlos from Reno 911. He was so cute in my eyes. I wrote him and everything, but he shunned me. I found out from many people what a snob he was and that ended my fandom. Before that a comedian on MAD TV. I wanted to meet him as he was only an hour away, but I found out he was gay. That ended my crush fast, lol!

Really! I didn't know. I remember reading that he said his childhood was messy, but I could never find out anymore than that.

Oh wow! That's awesome! It's always cool when other fave actors look up to your fave actors.
I enjoy Felony for the sure fact that both Lance and David worked together, haha!

Yeah i recorded the talk that morning and Colin Baker said that David Warner was his inspiration, as he went to see that Hamlet. Ah, to have been alive in 1966... I was born in the wrong generation and on the wrong continent, surely.
Tons of girls have crushes on John Barrowman and he's as gay as they come! :) He enjoys it though, he knows he's hot.

Havent seen Felony yet, its one of the ones i cant get ahold of. *pout*
Awww! That's not fair. Do you have region 1 on your computer or DVD player? Maybe I could rent it from Netflix and make a DVD copy and send it your way. I have some DVDs to send out. I've been trading with random imdb.com people for some movies of an actor for my fansite, so I have plenty of spare CDs left. Let me know and I will make you one! :)

Seriously! I'd miss technology and especially video games, haha, but I'd rather be in the 60s than here today, haha! It woulda been cool to have seen him play Hamlet, seen Peter on screen, pot, omgosh. The excitement...lol! I totally agree though. I wasn't born in the right time or place! Hopefully next time around, haha. Although all the great times have seemed to have gone far away.

That's awesome, haha. I still like the comedian, but I was waaay too clingy and fangirlish and had to stop. I was 18 and had the hopes of us falling in love. Haha. Silly teenage years. I'm glad I'm out of that and instead just swoon over actors as much as I want. I probably wouldn't have liked Lance or David back then as I didn't like actors that were married, it seemed wrong, I wanted them single, damnet, haha! Now I'm like who flipping cares, I still like them regardless of that. The only thing I was never against was age!

LJ is the most open i've ever been about my fangirlishness or ever interacted with other fans really besides the odd IRC chat back in the late 90s and some tapes from
Meeting Peter Davison in March was the first time ever, despite being a fan since i was 14. Probably the last time too, he's lost his appeal really.
I'm trying to figure out if lovefilm or one of those has any free deals going that i can sign up for and rent a few and then cancel before they bill me, lol. I'll check their website sand then MSE's freebies board to see if there are any free deals going at the moment.

Dear Mr Warner,
I am writing this letter as I have recently become a fan of yours, after having watched Time after Time a few months ago. That movie and your performance alongside Malcolm McDowell kindled my fan-hood. I have sought out many movies and tv episodes that I knew you starred in (iMDB.com is my friend, yes), and have been shocked, amazed, and utterly drawn to your talent like a magnet. Peckinpah movies in particular.
I am delighted to know that you are on this side of the pond these days, and being a yankee import myself who happened to marry and settled this side, I am very pleased to learn of your upcoming RSC performances in Stratford - how convenient. I will be there one Saturday in August; I'll be the one stuttering, blushing, and gawping.
I've seen so many movies; over half of your listed filmography, even some of the more difficult to find ones. I have delighted in your Sapphire and Steel audios for Big Finish, as well as the Unbound you did with Nick Courtney, the Nebulous episodes you did with Mark Gatiss, and even some of your cartoon work from the 90s (the Lobe springs to mind). And need I mention League of Gentlemen's Apocalpyse?>/i> Hysterical. You should have been in comedies more often; you're a natural.
So many movies would've been worthy of the bin, but they sit on my shelf because you are in them, because of the way you elevate everything you act in to a standard that few in Hollywood/Britain these days could ever hope to touch. The personality and depth you brought to Tom Jones and Morgan, you brought to Perfect Parents, as well as everything in between; an amazing career spanning more than 40 years. If you're not proud of yourself and your accomplishments, you should be.
Apologies for the gushing. I've never written a celebrity before. I'm not really sure what one is supposed to hope to achieve by writing a letter such as this, except to express their sincere and sometimes overwhelming admiration, so I will leave it at that.
Yours,
[my name]

I hope he likes it, i hope it makes him feel like he makes me feel. If it does, then it was worth the paper, the ink, and the 32p for the first class stamp :D
