Thunderstorms unlike i've seen in a few years knocked virgin media's internet off in our area at 17.15.
They kindly booked us an engineer for next wed. Not impressed one jot.

I hope you're getting a refund off of them...

The net came back up about 20 minutes ago, though this site wouldnt work until just now.

I'm intending to bitch at them big time, but suddenly after 6pm, the waiting times on calls rose above 15 mins, and I AINT WAITING NO MORE.

I've already spent a collective hour on the phone being told to reset the modem and reboot my pc... HELLO, did computers for 10 years, know what i'm talking about, on linux and behind a wifi router, your ping related fixes WONT WORK.

*headdesk* at stupid phone jockeys.

I'll give em a right bollocking in the morning.

Ooh blimey - didn't know thunderstorms could knock out the net!

Glad you seem to be connected again; we're with Virgin Media too and I know the trouble it can be trying to phone them with problems. I don't envy you with that at all!

They're more useless than bewbies on a hog. Yes.

Still, they got the net back up long before they could book an engineer. Thank goodness I used to be an engineer myself in the pre-motherhood days, and I can fix/diagnose things myself.

Else i wouldnt subject myself to the complexity that is Linux. ;)
