Things sure have moved quickly this week.

We're moving house in the end of November.

We're moving from a 3 bed terraced house to a 3 bed maisonette 7 mins walk from pumpkin's new school.

We're sacrificing the back garden and the freedom, and we have to put a lot of shit into storage, but pumpkin will get a place at the school for reception class guaranteed, and that's that. And its a nicer neighbourhood, with a good high street, close to sutton park, close to tescos, etc.

OMG. I am so overwhelmed; there's so much to do!. Needless to say i wont be doing nano this year - i'll be getting rid of a lot of shit, arrranging storage for more shit, and moving into a gorgeous yet small maisonette (a 2 floor apartment on the third floor !!) in the month of november/early december!! no time for novel writing!

!!!!! *collapse*

Don't know whether to tag this a yay or woe post! *headdesk*

zomg you're telling me. That's my life, yes. I only found the guy's advert last friday, and saw it last night and we accepted on the spot.

Hehe, yeah, moving house is definitely a yay/woe situation. But yay! and *hugs!* anyway.

Wow, that's fast AND soon! Congratulations on finding a suitable place that quickly!

And yes, very yay/woe. Still, hopefully twill be less woe and more YAY! by the end of November. And Christmas in a new house, there ya go! It'll probably be an experience...

Even so, Congratulations! x

Well its suitably SMALL, but we can live in it. Better half thinks its a travesty giving up his garden but i think it just means less hassle, no mowing, and more free time.

Thanks, hon. Its nerve wracking, yes. But Christmas and pumpkin's birthday (11 Dec) ought to be fun, yes :D

If you've got a park nearby then pumpkin's still got somewhere to play out, and I agree - no mowing! That's definitely the worst thing about gardens.

Well if you've got Christmas AND a birthday then you should definitely make lots of space when you start clearing stuff out! just had a thought - moving means you get away from stupid noisy neighbours, yes? Or have they been manageable since they were prat-like?

They've been hammering, drilling, and playing music at 10000 decibels today. I've just gotten used to it, or accepted the futility of being angry about it, i guess.

So yeah, possibly better neighbour situation, but i can't say til we live there and meet people, kwim?

Yeah, there's a huge football field sized patch of green for kids to play in, straight out the back, and sutton park is walking distance, the school is 7 minutes away on foot and they have a fab playground, etc. Lots of perks, honestly.

:D thanks Katie for hte support. I need it sometimes - better half isnt happy and MIL thinks its a bad idea. My mom supports us doing whatever we have to do for pumpkin, and after all, that's the whole point. I'd live out the back of a van if i had to in order to secure a place at that school.

Oh joy. Talk about neighbours from hell, huh? But that's true - you'll be leaving these guys behind - here's hoping there'll be some nicer people.

Moving nearer to the school for pumpkin's benefit is always a good thing - but it seems that the MIL isn't happy bout much that you do really; pumpkin's always gonna be the most important, not the MIL - seems she's got her priorities muddled.

MIL is the bane of my existence, always has been. Nothing's ever good enough for her, and no one is. I'm certainly not good enough for her son, no.

Better half is coming round to the idea, and almost looking forward to it. It will save us dosh on car ins as it has a car park, and stuff like that, so he's catching onto it. Yay.

Yeah stupid non-english speaking neughbours from hell. I wanna smack em most of the time. Grr.

Wow, that's a pretty big development :o) Moving house is an undertaking and a half, but it's all good in the end. And you'll be all settled for Christmas :o) I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well *hugs*

Good luck with the house move :)

I can't say I envy you at all, house moving is not fun, but sounds like for your family it will be more than worth it in the end!

Thanks, Jelly :) It just means my entries will probably be even more sparse since i still have to do everything i do now, plus adding coordinating a house move on top of it.

Thank heavens we're just renting, lol.

*hugs* and nice to see ya! :D

I'd have some serious issues if we had to move from here quickly (but then again, this is a Merkin house with lots of Merkin-type junk in it to deal with). This could be a great opportunity for you to flush the stuff -- get rid of things you don't use, etc etc etc.

Many hugs to you getting ready. And yeah, pumpkin is important, MIL is superfluous. Glad to hear hubby is getting used to the idea. :-) **HUGS**

Move date is 1 December, so its really just sorting through the VAST JUNK we have accumulated and sorting out what to take, what to bin, and what to pay to store somewhere - ie is it worth paying 6-12mos of storage costs to keep it.

Thank god we have 6 weeks, and half term is next week, which is good news. I can sort out closets and pumpkin's toy boxes and stuff then. I've already advertised bigger things locally in the paper and on the net to get rid of / sell to contribute towards deposit, etc.

And MIL can sit and spin, yes.

Yay, and thanks :D
