Holy crap. 5421 words, and I've only just woken him up, taken the drip out and gotten him to eat and talk normally! He's learning a new language because the TARDIS is too far away to help him translate, and he's had some frostbite that's healing.

There's NO WAY ON EARTH i can wrap this up in 8k words, so i'm utterly ignoring the word limit, and writing what *I* want to write. I'm going to write the entire 5 years, yes. I've decided it. Yes.

And then i can take snippets of it or whatever and assemble the 8k words for Craig's book. But i NEED to write these 5 years. I need to do it, so badly, its rattling round in my brain and its driving me round the bend. I want to read those 5 years, so i want to write them, to satisfy myself.

I've done 4k words today alone, and it wasn't a rush job, it was just a case of sitting down and putting down ideas on paper, that's all!

Plus i think i've gotten a bit wordy in places, like verbal diarrhoea.  Its going to need a spit and polish, that's for sure. But it'll be MINE. :D

I wish I had your drive. Care to write 4k words on my history coursework for me? I've written about two lines all weekend -headdesk-

I can only do it when i have the passion, and when it strikes me, and when i'm in the mood. Its really weird. And of course when Mark can watch Rachel for me and let me get something done, lol.

Sometimes i dont know where it comes from, i just write what i see floating round in my head. I dont have a plan, other than the big events, i dont know how i'm going to do it, i just sit down and DO IT, and it just comes out.

Sometimes it doesnt come out - this is the most i've written in several months, owing to holidays, Rachel starting nursery, and the ebola virus, heh.

Ocasionally I get hit by a stroke of genius and can write for hours at a time - during my NaNo, I wrote for eleven hours straight without even noticing! But this is about Nazi Germany, and so not exactly something I'm passionate about.

I plan the heck out of things when I'm writing. I can't write if I have no plan.

[identity profile] leoniedelt.livejournal.com 2007-02-11 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I dont have to plan it, it's already completed in my head. I'm like Mozart in that way, not being a genius or anything, but when i write something, its because its already finished in my head, and all i have to do is finish it on paper really.

I mean, i make some plans for the beginning and end of something when i start it, sometimes i think of plot twists, or new ways of tying things up while i'm in hte process of writing it down, etc. Usually before i go to bed is when i do my best thinking, or in the shower (because that's the only time i get to myself, mainly) and something will hit me.

But by time i sit in front of the keyboard, it *just spills out of my fingers* like that. Its weird.

OMG Nano - i did 64k in 3 and a half weeks, and it was insane. I usually did 3500 - 4k a day. I can hardly believe I finished it. I still cant find a beta for it though :/

I didn't finish NaNo - I ran out of time at about 34000 words. Completely wasn't my fault - I had coursework, exams, university interviews, EVERTHING seemed to happed in that month. What was yours about?

I'm happy to help with any future spit & polish beta-esque rambling that might be required!

[identity profile] alocin42.livejournal.com 2007-02-11 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been procrastinating through icon construction again! There's another one like that you might like in the main post... http://community.livejournal.com/davison_era/94232.html

And I don't know about Hershy's Kisses - I don't think I've ever had them!

[identity profile] leoniedelt.livejournal.com 2007-02-11 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG i love the icons, yes. YOU RULE!!!

I had the one of him grinning after having his arm up the cow's arse for a long time as my default icon.

As for the kisses, you'll just have to find out if you like them :) I see an Alocin-parcel in the post, possibly this week, possibly nearer the 17th due to financial constraints...

[identity profile] alocin42.livejournal.com 2007-02-11 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah I remember the Tristan grin love icon!

And aww thank you very much! :) Mmm chocolatey parcel goodness...

[identity profile] leoniedelt.livejournal.com 2007-02-11 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Besides the chocolate, possibly a few other surprises for you as well :D

Keep an eye on your post on or after the 17th. Yes.
