for pumpkin today, and the nursery nurse who came said she has definite sensory issues. The OT referral's has gone through by fax, hopefully will come through soon though there is a queue.

6 weekly sessions at home before christmas, to help pumpkin with sensory issues, will be done by the nursery nurse, every thursday morning.

She mentioned talking to the SLP at the child dev centre and seeing of she can step in, or if we have to wait for the school's SLP, which the school will be talking to today.

She's also to liaise with the school SENCO re issues and therapies and how they are working or not working.

progress! its all moving forward, that's something.

edited: Speech therapy and the EdPsych take over in January, providing services at school. YAY!!!!!

Play therapy! Sounds fun. :) I've often wondered how people with sensory issues learn to deal with them. You can't go through life constantly avoiding everything that makes you uncomfortable, but when it's down to your own brain and nerves not cooperating, what do you do? *totters off to do more internet research*

De-sensitise, like you do with allergies. Get them used to it.

Eek, not so fun! (At least for beginners, anyway!) But I hear the results can be fantastic. Thanks for the enlightenment.
