migraine aura, complete with technicolour zigzag line that almost looked like a rainbow fractal.

Weirdness. I guess i'm due a migraine. I have a mild headache this evening, and my neck is quite sore.
Mood:: 'artistic' artistic

Hope it doesn't turn out too bad for you! Sucky migraines.

I had a look on Google and found a picture that sounds like what you described, does it look like it at all?

I've only had the "central scotoma" on there like number 2, where I can't see anything I look directly at. At least the rainbow sounds prettier! ;)

Get better soon!

The first one, except it was one line, and it was vertical, and it had blues and greens in it and seemed to be pulsating, all shimmery and pretty. And fractally. Didnt last more than ten or so minutes, but it was really freaky weird.

Going to bed soon, hoping to avoid migraine at all. If necessary, I have zomig, but still. Ugh.

I deest migraines, I get them far more often than is fair. I get the whole lights display with them - would be very pretty, if my head wasn't disintegrating at the same time.

I've been a migraineur since I was 19 (and i'l be 31 shortly) so i'm well used to my head falling apart, but i've never ever had a zigzag like that before. That was a totally new experience.

I was diagnosed in 96 by the MHNI with 'migraine variant' because i didnt get the auras and because usually my migraines came on out of a cervical headache, stemming from the car wreck and its problems. And to this day if i let a headache get bad enough, it will 'go migraine' on me, i'll end up puking and in a dark room, taking zomig to stop it.

But honest to god, never have i ever seen anything like that before in my life.

I'm especially prone to migraine auras (or,as I call it, a migraine in my eye) when exposed to lots of fluorescent lights. I've had a spell come on just by entering a Target. Fortunately, they don't happen much -- unless I've been on the computer late at night (like now).

Interesting thing -- there's no pain, and no follow-on migraine headache (unlike yours, it sounds like), but the loss of sight from the zig-zags is most disconcerting. A couple of aspirin help the aura go away more quickly than letting time take care of it.

I took my klonopin and went to bed, i dont know if i had a follow on headache or not. I'm a bit stiff and sore this morning, but that's nothing unusual.

And i've done this migraine thing since I was 19, but i've never had a zigzag til last night. Wow.

Glad you're alright. That zigzag is teh bizarre! Amazing the kinds of weird stuff our brains can do, innit?

Yep, ok today. I could end up with a right sided migraine later on due to stiffness and so on, but so far, so good. And the increased dose of klonopin, bless my doctor, is helping keep the muscles in check, which are the biggest problem anyway.

*resists making a "migraines are a pain in the neck" joke* Thank goodness for small mercies!
