of a nearly 4 year old, the Madeleine McCann drama is bothering me today. I feel sick to my stomach for that little girl.

I've been doing some research into published accounts of what happened.

Since the Portugese bloody police wont share any details, I'm going to theorise.

I think the McCanns sedated her, since getting 3 children to sleep under 4 years old just isnt possible, so they could go out, like they had the previous 5 nights, but with the peace of mind knowing the children were asleep and therefore OK.
I dont think they checked up on them as often as they claim because like i just said, the kids were drugged, therefore they didn't need checking up on (big mistake to make!) - they weren't going anywhere.
I think their mates are involved somehow, possibly lying to cover up the truth.
I think one of them (Kate or Gerry) came back to find her dead, moved her body for fear of losing their jobs or the twins or worse, and that's why so much time elapsed between allegedly finding her and alerting the police.
I think the police are bumbling idiots who can't manage a crime scene, but hey, what do i know about forensics? Only what Dr Tony Hill and CSI have taught me.
I think that their mates, who had the hire car first, got rid of the body.
I think they then hired the very same car 5 weeks later, to try and hide it. Where better to hide the getaway car then in full daylight and press coverage?

If my nearly-4 year old disappeared, you wouldnt see me flying to the fucking Pope - I'd be seen with swollen fat eye lids and a tear-smeared face DAILY as i scoured the countryside on my hands and knees to find her.

I feel guilty stepping out front and leaving mine in the house long enough to take the rubbish out. I'd NEVER EVER EVER leave my child alone for 6 nights in a row, (there are reports of hearing her crying for up to 2 hours at a time the previous nights), with 2 younger babies in the room, while i boozed with my mates in another BUILDING. That's called CHILD NEGLECT.

if Maddie was really snatched, not killed by her medically-trained parents, then i highly hope they are done in the UK for child neglect, and the twins removed from them. What they did was wrong and directly led to whatever happened to Madeleine. They need to own up to that fact.

It just breaks my heart, and every time i see that little girl's face i want to cry. Mainly because i'm putting myself in their shoes with a missing/dead 4 year old, but no one really knows what their shoes are, do they?
Mood:: 'sad' sad

It's difficult with all this press speculation leading the police enquiries, but something doesn't add up. Sedation came up because a syringe was found and the press, putting two and two together with the McCanns being Doctors came up with the sedation idea. Unless the police leaked facts to the press (which I'm not saying didn't happen) then its likely to be a red herring.

If they DID sedate her then you're right, it makes their morality questionable.

The problem here is that the Portugese Police didn't do their job in the first place. If the McCanns hadn't kicked up the stink that they did they'd have been home and scott-free weeks ago, which means you either have two innocent people kicking the machine or you have two very cocky people whose attitude will get them arrested regardless of the truth.

Well the police put it to her that they'd give her 2 years in jail is she admitted accidentally killing her daughter, and directly asked her if the child had been sedated.

I havent checked the news yet this morning.

Yes, the Portugese police bungled it up from the beginning, not sealing off the crime scene, so there's mega cross contamination of the apartment, the car, etc.

Lets just hope this breakthrough they had from the Birmingham lab is enough to clinch it, whatever the fate.

I'm not a mother yet, but I know that I could never leave my children alone in a hotel room - and certainly not for 6 nights in a row. It's that bit that actually disturbs me the most - not how they handled it afterwards, like most people I talk to. How could they leave three tiny, defenceless children alone in a foreign country where anything could have happened?
I remember going on holiday when I was 9, and my mother wouldn't let me walk back upstairs in the hotel by myself one evening after dinner. This might just be my mum being protective, but now, I'd have to agree.

I must admit that I can't help believing your version of events. They sound so terrifyingly rational and logical.

Lets hope i'm wrong and they find her tomorrow. But i dont beleive it will happen that way :(

I panic if mine is beside me where i can't see her, like behind me or something. I'm neurotic, but i'd rather be neurotic than missing a kid.

Welcome aboard, by the way!

Hi. You know, i got my little Junior and the thought that he wouldn´t be in sight just for a moment, makes me already nervous. I´m a little neurotic, too. It´s incredible and very sad, what happens to little Maddie. The police there is absolutely incompetent! Hopefully she´s still alive!

Fingers crossed she is, but i suspect down deep that she isnt.

And i get utterly fucking paranoid if i can't see pumpkin for a minute. I was having kittens letting her grandmother take her for a walk yesterday! But my little girl is kept safe, because she is that important to me. I can't imagine doing anything differently, neurotic or no!

I feel the same way like you! If Maddie´s parents have really anything to do with her death, if she already is, they both shall be glad, that i´m not from the police department. I think i would torture them, til they confess all of it! Such a cruel act! Unbelievable!

They're currently consulting General Pinochet's lawyer... looks like they either plan fighting extradition, or something akin to it.

Sad state of affairs. Yes. They're looking guiltier and guiltier - IMO, they found out through arguido/a status that the police know they did it, so they split and plan to try and fight it from the UK.

I think, it doesn´t matter, from where they try to fight and who the lawyer is. The time will come and they´ll get into jail, hopefully! I would punish them even more if i could. It´s not enough to be in jail, losing the twins and their jobs. Fucking freaks!

Its all total insanity.

I think from the theories that are circulating, the accidental overdose of sedation is the most plausible, IMO.

Coloboma (the thing with the iris in her eye) is related to long QT syndrome.

Antihistamines can cause heart arrythmias at normal doses, moreso at high doses.

It may have been a complete accident. It really may have. But they feared losing their twins and their careers, so they hid it and started a charade they now can't stop.

That's my theory, I'm running with it til the Portuguese police tell me otherwise.

That poor poor baby. Makes my hug my pumpkin that much tighter, yes, it does.

It's just a sad situation all around isn't it?
I look at Sammy and I cannot imagine what possessed two supposedly 'good' parents to think that leaving three babies home alone so they could go eat was OK? I just don't understand that. And not because I am paranoid about abduction, but because when Sammy has a nightmare, needs a wee, needs a drink, falls out of bed I want to be there to comfort him you know? I can't get my head around that never mind all the was she drugged, was she murdered by her mother, was she snatched away and it is all as innocent as they would like us to believe....

I don't think we'll ever know what happened to that poor girl, I do think the McCann's are an exceptionally clever couple who have manipulated the media to suit their interests.

It's just sad, I can't help but feel sick when I think of Madeleine and whatever happened to her because the two people who should have been there to protect her weren't or because the two people who should have protected her are the ones who harmed her :(

I feel the same way - pillars of the community who we trust to give us advice on parenting (!!) did this to their children.

I hope social services waste no time taking the twins away and placing them with an auntie or someone. Besides, from the looks of things, their parents will be extradited back to Portugal within the week anyways!

Sad, sick, and destroys my faith in fellow human beings, ESPECIALLY doctors in Leicester and Exeter!

Everytime i see those two McCann´s in the news, running around with the twins and swear once more to have nothing to do with the disappearing of their daughter, i think: hang them higher! Freaky bastards. The suspition against them is getting stronger every day. The media said that the blood, what the police have found in the car, is obviously Maddie´s. OMG! Poor little girl.

Y'know, from the first time I saw a "find Maddy" poster this case totally bothered me. I'm glad I'm not alone. I thought, "what the f*ck are these parents doing putting the little kids in a hotel room alone, with the door *open* while they go out to dinner (apparently now it's more than dinner -- it was drinking and all). At that time I didn't realize they'd been doing it for the past SIX nights. *bastards!* I think child neglect is the *least* charge that should be brought against them.

As for the Portuguese police -- what a bunch of putzes.

When we were in London last year, my older son wanted to go see Avenue Q. Unfortunately, that would mean leaving the younger one (aged 9 1/2) alone at the B&B. This B&B, mind you, is run by people I like and admire, and he would be able to lock himself in the room, and I do let him stay on his own while I go to the grocery store. But there's no way in HELL I'd leave him alone in a strange country for an evening, even being as old and capable as he is. I can't imagine doing the same with three little ones.

Poor Maddy!

We're all going to find out, pretty soon i think, that Maddy's been dead since my birthday, 3 May, and they OD'ed her on some drugs or her mom hit her and killed her, and then Gerry helped bury her.

Very sad all around because doctors are not the kind of people you expect to do this sort of thing; with these ppl drugging their kids and NHS doctors trying to bomb glasgow airport, makes you wonder about the NHS, don't it??? The media charade since then beggars belief, really.
