Well i'm gobsmacked. It was superb. It didn't outdo Cruel Immortality, but it's in line as my second favourite ever.

I did have to listen to it twice to 'get' it, but i blame that on my current state of brain chemistry, yes. The mystery at the end with Gold's fate, i cant WAIT to see how that ends up being revealed in the future. yes.

Well done, Big Finish.

David Warner, i love you, again.

most of the night dreaming about boning David Warner (!!) or traveling with the Fifth Doctor, i woke up and had a superb ending idea for TF.

I t rewrote the heretofore last paragraph a little, so it doesnt feel like it just ends abruptly for no reason, and then i sat down after cooking breakfast for the pumpkin, to write it.

Took me til about 10am to write, trimming up some fatty tissue elsewhere so i could fit it in, and it stands at 9980 words at the moment. Two betas have passed the idea as a good one, that seals up all loose ends, etc, so i'm feeling pretty good about it.

I've printed a copy, i will beta-fy it myself today during school, looking for small is and full stops and punctuation, and hopefully ship it off to the editor/beta tonight. And that will hopefully, fingers crossed, be me done with TF.

So i can move on to The Remnants, damnit! I am so DYING to write David and Susannah/David and Joanna. Yes.

I havent dumped icons in a while.

Mixed fandom icons. Some Sapphire and Steel, some David Warner from Tom Jones (1963) when he was 22 (!!) to Battle for Rome (2005), when he was 64!

Enjoy!

Cut for 8 David Warner and 10 S&S icons! )

*headdesk* Why is my brain still working on S&S fic?

Until i get the actual line by line shredding of TF, i cant do any more work on it. In the meantime, my head's in the wrong place, thinking about the wrong characters.

I tried even listening to Circular Time Winter today, to get back into the Who groove, but alas, had S&S fic ideas on the walk home. ARGH.

Memo to brain:

Stop the S&S stuff, already, okay?
It aint gonna help TF if you're busy lusting after Steel, yeah?

Signed,
Me

Temporarily called 'The Remnants' for lack of a better title...

I didnt get much done at the allotment today as I lacked a keyboard and there was much more fun stuff to do.

That said, i've broken 2k already, made up 7 original characters and their complicated relationships to each other, even ones they dont know about yet, and introduced all but one of them, and he's about to be introduced next.

*pats sunburnt self gingerly on the back* Well done, me :D

903 words today, just now. Will probably write more before bed.

My first S&S fic, omgyay!

Did physical descriptions sort of a combination of Lumley&McCallum and Warner&Harker. Tried not to voerstate Steel's height as McCallum was only 5.8, but Warner is 6'2... Harker is blonde but nowhere as thin as Lumley, that kind of thing.

Tried to keep the dialogue as real as I know they do, serious, fast, hard dialogue...

So, who wants to be my beta? lol

And my poem about madness and fire, adapted from the one posted in my last thread? Here it is:

As i sat atop my bed

I met a man inside my head

He talked of fire and pain and death

And how they'd come and take my breath

He wasn't really in my head

I wasn't really by my bed

But there he was again today

Oh how I wish he'd go away

I hope to use that in different parts of the story. As for a title, i've yet to come up with one that's suitably spooky.

Ok, i need some nursery rhymes or poetry that I can quote / use as a recurring theme in my latest fic effort.

Basically, the premise is about a present day 'luxyry housing development' that was built in 1993, on the old site of / using the building that used to be an insane asylum. That had a terrible fire in 1903 and 51 patients were burned to death.

Soooo..... fire? Burning? Going insane? Nursery rhyme / bit of poetry that can be recited by a possessed little girl as she, while wearing a locket from the past, is the catalyst for a time breakout?

Anyone? ideas? Thanks

If you havent heard it. GET IT.

It helps to know what happened to Ruby in Water Like a Stone, but it stands on its own, and an un-fucking-believeable S&S audio, in fact, the best one to date, I'd say.

I was listening to it again today, doing some homework on the Transients, etc, and was utterly blown away by the standard of acting, the storyline, everything.

Nigel Fairs, you're a genius.

David Warner, I love you all over again. :)

for a S&S fic...

Colney Hatch Asylum , closed in 1993 and redeveloped into Princess Park Manor luxury flats. Terrible fire in 1903, killed 51 patients. Yes.

Superb :D

I think i'm leaning away from Doctor Who.

Cut for the ravings of a madwoman... )

Ok rant over. Hence my new default icon. Made from the old Sapph and Steel opening screencap, which i took, and the S&S banner at BF site, snipped and put together. :D
